Every four-wheeler needs a working FASTag to use national highway toll plazas: without one you pay 1.25 times the toll by UPI, and cash is no longer taken at national highway plazas. SBI FASTags are issued by State Bank of India. You can apply yourself, or let us handle the paperwork for you.
Two ways to get an SBI FASTag
- Yourself, with SBI: apply on SBI’s FASTag portal (fastag.sbi.bank.in) or at an SBI branch. Good if you are comfortable with portals and uploads.
- With CareAll on WhatsApp: send your documents on WhatsApp at 90420 10180. We complete the application with SBI, dispatch the tag the same day, and it reaches you in 1–3 working days anywhere in India. We tell you our service charge on WhatsApp before you pay anything.
Documents you need
- Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC), front and back.
- One identity and address document of the vehicle owner, such as Aadhaar (please send a masked Aadhaar), driving licence, voter ID or passport. PAN may also be asked.
- The owner’s mobile number, which will receive toll alerts.
For a new car, jeep or van FASTag, the separate “Know Your Vehicle” (KYV) photo step was dropped from 1 February 2026: the vehicle details are checked on VAHAN before the tag is activated.
What it costs
For a car, jeep or van, SBI’s charges under NPCI’s rules are a ₹100 tag issuance fee, a ₹200 refundable security deposit and a ₹100 minimum balance that stays in your FASTag wallet. Other vehicle classes have different amounts.

After you get the tag
- Fix it on the inside of the windscreen, top centre, behind the rear-view mirror. A tag kept loose or in the hand can be blacklisted.
- Keep enough balance and turn on SMS alerts. You can check the balance with a missed call to 7208820024 or by sending FTBAL to 7208820019 from your registered mobile.
- Only one active FASTag is allowed per vehicle. If an old tag is still active on the same vehicle, close it.
