From 17 September 2026 you can move your FASTag from one bank to another and keep the same tag on your windscreen. The service is called OneTag. It was built by IHMCL and NPCI and sits in NHAI’s Rajmargyatra app.
How to port your FASTag
- Open the Rajmargyatra app and choose OneTag / FASTag portability.
- Enter your vehicle number.
- Get a 6-digit code from your current FASTag bank and enter it.
- Choose the new bank and complete its checks.
What happens to your balance
Your old bank closes the old FASTag wallet and refunds the balance, after any adjustments. The balance is not moved across, so recharge the new wallet before your next trip.
The 6-month rule
After porting, the same tag cannot be ported again for six months.
Tags that cannot be ported
A tag that is blacklisted, blocked or physically damaged cannot be moved; fix it first, or get a replacement. See SBI FASTag replacement and blacklist removal.
Moving to or from SBI
You can port an SBI FASTag to another bank, or move another bank’s FASTag to SBI, the same way. If you would rather have us handle the steps, WhatsApp 90420 10180. We tell you our service charge on WhatsApp before you pay anything.
